METAMORPHOSIS 14.8.-8.9.2024
Aulagalleria, Galleria WW, Walleniuksen Wapriikki, Juupajoki
The exhibition "Metamorphosis" explores the relationship and interaction between humans and nature. It features acrylic and oil paintings that depict the merging of humans with the forest and the cycles of nature. Over time, an inevitable transformation returns humans to their natural state, becoming one of the forest’s creatures. "Metamorphosis" presents a visual narrative that begins with the imagined separation of humans from nature and culminates in complete unity with the natural world.
The works in the exhibition are painted in layers using oil paints, with some of the underpaintings done in acrylics. Often parts of the lower layers are left visible, thus highlighting the characteristics of different paints and the resulting variation and expressiveness in the brushstrokes.
The exhibition reflects the complexity of man's relationship with nature and invites the viewer to reflect on their own connection with nature and the forest.
